Wesley Huffstutter Joins RequestRocket as Co-Founder & CCO
BRISBANE, Australia — July 15, 2026
RequestRocket, the zero-trust API governance platform built to bring authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and data redaction to any third-party API or MCP without code changes, today announced that Wesley Huffstutter has joined the company as Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
The appointment caps a year of close collaboration between Huffstutter and the RequestRocket team — another successful company to go through the QIC-funded Inductive accelerator program — and marks a new chapter as the company accelerates go-to-market execution during a period of rapid customer and revenue growth.
Why this matters
Huffstutter is a serial cybersecurity entrepreneur best known for co-founding QuadMetrics, a predictive cyber risk analytics company acquired by FICO in 2016 to become the FICO score for cybersecurity, and for later building SecuritySnares, focused on stopping ransomware and wiper malware at the point of first file manipulation.
He brings more than a decade of experience translating deep technical security capability into enterprise sales, category creation, and board-level trust. Over the past year, he worked alongside RequestRocket’s leadership as an advisor and champion for the platform’s approach to third-party API access control — experience that convinced both sides a formal, permanent partnership was the right next step.
“I’ve spent a large portion of my career working with enterprises to get them to understand and mitigate cyber risk. Today, API calls make up roughly 80% of worldwide internet traffic. It’s how we access our important data. I’ve seen firsthand how organizations share overly permissive API keys, trusting that the human they are sharing it with will do the right thing: not expose it publicly or in code, or not access data outside the intended scope. Unfortunately, this problem has escalated exponentially with the adoption of AI. When I saw how elegant the solution that Alex and RequestRocket were building, and now have built, I became an evangelist. Think about it, unmanaged credentials, fragmented authentication, and zero observability over outbound calls are all now controlled and governed in minutes, without a single line of code.”

What Wes brings to the table
As CCO, Huffstutter will lead RequestRocket’s global business development, commercial strategy, and investor relations, with a mandate to scale the company’s go-to-market motion across enterprise security teams, managed service providers, and the developer platforms that increasingly rely on RequestRocket to govern APIs and MCP connections they don’t own or control.
Three capabilities make the appointment timely:
Category momentum. As AI agents, MCP servers, and third-party integrations multiply, security and platform teams need a control plane for API access they don’t own — precisely the gap RequestRocket was built to close. Huffstutter has already spent a year sharpening how RequestRocket tells that story to enterprise buyers.
Proven operator, proven exits. Huffstutter has taken cyber risk analytics from university research to a FICO-branded enterprise product. He brings a commercial leader who has already turned deep technical IP into a durable, monetizable category to a company that needs exactly that at this stage.
Governance, risk, and trust at the core. Huffstutter’s background — building measurable, quantifiable trust systems for enterprise risk — aligns directly with RequestRocket’s positioning around GRC, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and OWASP-aligned governance.
“Wes has already made himself indispensable to this company over the past year. Every conversation he’s had with a customer or a prospect has made our story sharper and our pipeline stronger. Formalizing him as a co-founder and CCO isn’t a hire, it’s a recognition of what he’s already built alongside us. There is nobody better positioned to take RequestRocket’s commercial engine into its next phase of growth.”
